MusicEval is a free music analysis service that helps you understand your favorite playlists. This page explains how we handle your information and what you can expect when using our service.
Information We Collect
Playlist Information
When you analyze a playlist, MusicEval processes the playlist URL and information obtained from the playlist provider, such as the playlist ID, playlist title, track IDs, and music metadata needed to perform the analysis. This information is temporarily retained while the analysis is being processed and is automatically expired after approximately one hour, except for information associated with a shareable analysis as described below.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect usage information, such as page views, events, and general usage patterns. This helps us understand how MusicEval is used and improve the service.
Technical Information
When you access MusicEval, our hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically process technical information associated with your request, such as IP address, browser type, device information, and request information. This information may be used for operating, securing, and troubleshooting the service.
How Your Information Is Used
- •Submitted playlist information is used to perform the requested analysis.
- •Analysis results are displayed to you for personal use.
- •If you choose to create a shareable analysis, the generated analysis snapshot is stored so it can be accessed through the shared link for up to six months.
- •Cached music metadata is used to improve performance and reduce repeated requests to music data providers.
- •Usage data helps us understand how visitors use MusicEval and improve the service.

MusicEval relies on these services to function:
Google Analytics
Provides information about how visitors use MusicEval, such as page views, events, and general usage patterns.
Vercel
Provides hosting and deployment infrastructure for MusicEval and may process technical request and server information as part of operating the service.
Upstash Redis
Provides database and caching infrastructure used to temporarily store analysis job data, cache music metadata for performance, and store user-created shared analysis snapshots.
Inngest
Provides background job processing used to execute and manage playlist analysis workflows.
Deezer API
Provides access to publicly available Deezer playlist and music metadata used to perform playlist analyses.

Data Storage
MusicEval does not require a user account and does not store your personal listening history.
When you submit a playlist for analysis, MusicEval temporarily processes information such as the playlist ID, playlist title, track IDs, and music metadata needed to generate your analysis. Analysis and job data is retained for approximately one hour and then automatically expires. Information associated with a shareable analysis may be retained separately for up to 180 days, as described below.
MusicEval also uses caching to improve performance and reduce repeated requests to music data providers. Certain music metadata, such as album release dates, genres, and track release dates, may be cached for up to 180 days.
If you choose to create a shareable analysis, MusicEval stores a snapshot containing the information needed to display the shared analysis, such as the playlist title, custom share title if provided, artist information, genre information, release dates, and analysis results. Shared analyses are retained for up to 180 days before automatically expiring.
To support shared-analysis management and prevent duplicate shared snapshots, MusicEval may retain a derived identifier associated with the playlist and shared-analysis information for up to 180 days. This identifier can be used to associate a shared analysis with the playlist snapshot from which it was generated.
Data Deletion
Temporary analysis data and cached music metadata automatically expire according to the retention periods described above. Shared analyses automatically expire after up to 180 days.
